My First Product: Firecracker Hot Sauce

When I was 11, I created my first proper product, Firecracker Hot Sauce, after taking a Skillshare course on label design. Inspired to make my own design, I needed a product to pair with it, so I ventured into making hot sauce.

I spent countless hours experimenting with different recipes, adjusting flavors, ingredients, and fermentation times. Eventually, I developed three unique flavors:

• Bombastic (Red Chilli Sauce)

• Green Kaboom ( Green Chilli Sauce)

• Hawaiian Spice (Pineapple Chilli Sauce)

Each flavor had its distinct design, requiring a lot of effort and creativity. I meticulously went through various label shapes and designs, finally settling on a hexagonal label that looked professional and modern, even after years.

Creating the hot sauces and designing the labels was just the beginning. To preserve the sauces, I used heat shrink wraps, ensuring they stayed fresh. The most challenging part of the project was building the website. I took numerous photos, filmed a commercial, and spent countless hours designing the site from scratch.

Firecracker Hot Sauce taught me valuable lessons in product development, design, and digital marketing. Looking back, I’m proud of how professional the designs turned out, considering I was only 11 at the time. I restarted  this bussiness for a while when I turned 13, it took changes, buying bottles from alibaba, coordinating with sellers and trying to get buyers to trust that a 13 year old kid would not food poison you. I continued this venture for 2 and a half more years and continued the home making style as to preserve quality and have full control which buyers appreciated.  This project sparked my passion for creating and designing products, and it remains a significant accomplishment in my journey.
